Paola Portello's Story
Welcome to Paola Portello
I am an artist and designer living and working in London, UK. I grew up in Italy, where I studied at the Liceo Artistico Giovanni Sello in Udine. After graduating in Art and Graphic Design in 1987, I began collaborating with local architects and interior designers, creating trompe-l’oeil works in private homes and in public spaces such as cafés, nightclubs, and hotels.
During this time I exhibited in several group shows, and in 1996 I held my first solo exhibition in Turin.
Later that year I moved to the UK, where I began working for the well-known boutique Hampstead Bazaar in London. I continue to work there today as art director and designer, creating timeless clothing styles featuring unique pattern designs and bespoke jewellery pieces.
In my personal time, I continue to create both original artworks and commissioned pieces, which you can view on this website.
